beach: day 7: last day

On Friday, we made our final trek to the beach.

We hopped in the pool before naps.

Lydia, Heidi, and I played LIFE. (The new version is so terrible compared to the old version but a welcome respite from the sadness and grief that hit the end of our vacation. A dear friend of my mom lost her daughter, very suddenly and tragically, on Friday morning. We all left Friday instead of Saturday. We sent my parents on their way to be with their friends while we waited for the nappers to wake up. So this foolish game of LIFE was a welcome relief from the tragedy and tears in real life. But for real, the cards in this new version are so bizarre. Anybody still have the old version?)

Hug your people and love them well. I Samuel 30:4, 6: "Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep . . . And David was greatly distressed . . . But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God."
