real life

Anna was quietly reading on the couch one Monday after lunch. She was talking/singing to herself and kicking her feet. She looked adorable and sweet, so I took this picture as I walked Jesse back for his nap.

Five minutes later, I asked her to go to the bathroom before her nap, and she walked into the bathroom with a soaked skirt. So I spent the first five minutes of her nap soaking and scrubbing the ottoman with vinegar.

Truth be told, after my selfish irritation wears off, I am grateful to scrub ottomans with vinegar because it means I have babies for whom to care.

(P.S. Sally Lloyd-Jones wrote a piece about Thanksgiving, and we all know how much I love Sally.)
