favorite recipes

The garden has been dumping tomatoes on us the past few weeks, so I've been throwing tomatoes at every dinner: from BLTs to margarita pizza to pico de gallo. Here are some of our favorite finds. The images belong to the original blogger of the recipe as noted below each image.

Pinch of Yum: Drunken Chicken Marsala
I doubled this and brought it over to my parents for dinner after an afternoon of swimming. My dad does not always appreciate my experimental recipes, but even this received his approval.

The Pioneer Woman: My Favorite Pizza
We had some eggplants from our CSA, so I googled recipes and found this one. The girls smelled it and said, "yay!" but then looked at it and said, "eww." Then they ate it and loved it.

Heidi and an alpaca

Over at the alpaca farm, Ann gave us access to the barn to visit the alpaca ladies. While Lydia and Anna went sprinting away, Heidi was excited. Heidi's alpaca friend was equally excited and smothered her with kisses.

alpacas and fish

While up in the mountains, we ventured across the street on more than one occasion to visit our friends, the alpacas. With each visit, we brought more people along for the walk.

On Saturday, we continued to the pond to feed the fish.

Harford Fair

After missing our visit in 2014, we made our annual trip to the Harford Fair.

Heidi is our fearless animal lover.

Jesse was feeling for this cow getting his haircut.

The pigs seem appropriately named.

The motorcycle tent was gone, but this humungous tractor was quite entertaining.

The girls loved feeling the furs of skunks, otters, possums, foxes . . . and this guy knew the answer to every question they had.

Here's our annual photo!

We got ice cream on the way out.
