Halloween costumes

Image
Just for fun, here's a look back at our Halloween costumes.

2010: soccer player.

2011: a Heidi-bear and an elephant.

2012: butterfly and Are-You-My-Mother baby bird.

Hopefully I'll get a good picture to show you this year's . . .

pacifier? thumb? or both?

Image
Here's our combination pacifier/thumb-sucker. Anna puts her thumb in the pacifier hole to hold in the pacifier and then also sucks her thumb through the pacifier. So tricky.

What's everyone looking at?

Flamingos!

smilebooth

Image
We went to a wedding two weeks ago and tried out the smilebooth . . .

. . . with some of our friends (Esther, Nicole, and Tim).

Photobomb by the groom.

(Psst - Derek and Bethany - anything fun like this happening at your wedding?!)

baking cookies

Image
We baked these delcious giant ginger molasses cookies the other day.

Poor Anna, only gets to lick clean measuring spoons.

wall hangings

Image
Leah and I finished these growth chart rulers last fall while we were both still pregnant. (We sort of followed these twotutorials except we rotated the numbers.) On October 3rd, almost an entire year after finishing it, I finally hung mine up. (Big slacker.)

So we marked both Lydia and Heidi's height on that random October 3rd day and plan to continue charting each girl on her own birthday. We'll do Anna for the first time on her first birthday. (She actually gets to be the first kid to do it "right" and start on her first birthday.)

While I was busy hammering holes into plaster walls (with tape! hammering into plaster is tricky business), I finally put two things on the wall in the girls' room, too.

I still just love this photo and love it on the wall in their room.

(That was taken on my iPhone, and there was no resolution problem enlarging it to that 12"x12" size for the frame. That's still amazing to me.)

Great-Nanny, leaf pile, six months

Image
After visiting Great-Great-Grammy, we all ventured over to visit Great-Nanny. This was Anna's first time meeting her.

Then after some lunch and naps, we played outside at Pop-Pop's and Nana's. We spent some time in a leaf pile.

Anna was unimpressed with playing in the leaves.

She much preferred the blanket.

And something to chew on for her new teeth that are breaking through the gums.

Wait, are you six-months-old already (as of last Sunday), Anna? Good grief! Where does the time go?!

visiting Great-Great-Grammy

Image
On Friday we went out to Harleysville and visited the girls' Great-Great Grammy (Aaron's dad's paternal grandmother) and Great-Nanny (Aaron's maternal grandmother). Great-Great-Grammy pulled out this box of toys that her grandkids (and great-grandkids and now great-great-grandkids) played with when they were kids.

There is three generations of baby slobber on that tractor. Yum.

Heidi had to call Pop-Pop.

Anna just kept giggling with Great-Great-Grammy.

I won't tell you how old Great-Great-Grammy is, but we went to her 95th birthday party in December three years ago. These girls are so blessed to know her.

If you were wondering, Lydia also declared Friday "tree shirt" day, so we all (Aaron and I included) wore our tree shirts. (This year's Nez shirts have been renamed "tree shirts" by the girls because the old Nez shirts are still in Heidi's drawer which was just too confusing, I guess.) =)

a walk in the woods

Image
We went for a walk in the woods at the mountains.

Whoops - I chopped Heidi's head out of this picture.

There's everyone!

"Mama, can you carry me?"

lawnmowers

We mowed the lawn at the mountains.

Then Catalyn and Georgie rode on the lawnmowers.

Then Daddy gave us rides on the lawnmowers.

We fell off!
