moving day s'mores

Today is moving day! While we wait for the moving truck, here's a final post on our weekend in the mountains.

We were sleeping in a tent (despite the house you see in the background - there were quite a number of us), so a campfire was in order. Whenever campfires are burning, s'mores must be melting, in my world anyway.

Fortunately, my girls agree with my thinking.

This post is making me drool. Yum!

After visiting the alpacas, we went on a walk . . .

. . . to feed the fish in the pond.

Then I picked some flowers.

Here we are!

We maintain certain traditions at the Harford Fair. Besides visiting the animals, we stop by the tractors, the Harley Davidson tent, and the "how tall this fall?" pumpkin ruler.

Here we are in 2009, taking pictures of each other. I'm six months pregnant with Lydia.

With nine-month-old Lydia in 2010.

In 2011 with three-month-old Heidi.

And in 2012. (Look! I wore a different shirt! Yes, I somehow wore the same shirt three years in a row. Clearly fashion is my thing.)

Heidi and the farm animals

Last year, I told you about my first visit to the Harford Fair saying, "Next year I should be able to make animals noises for them like Lydia does!" Well, there were a lot of animals, and I made a lot of noises.

A goat!

Lydia was loving the animals, too.

I really liked this ram.

Wait, these are chickens?

Baby chicks!

Gotta wash my hands after petting the animals

(and licking their fences). (Mama says that's yucky.)

visiting the alpacas

We went to the mountains last weekend, and on Saturday we stopped by the alpaca farm across the street.

Hello, boys!

The bear wanted to see the alpacas, too.

The owner, Ann, was there, and she brought out the ten-day-old baby, Thor. He was so so so soft.

But he cried for his mama, so he went back to her while the other lady alpacas came out to investigate us.

Heidi was so excited.

Look at them all!
